May 26, 2016

Today soapstone expert, Dave from Rubble-Road Soapstone, came into the school and taught the students how to create aoapstone carvings.  This is something we had been reading about all year in relation to the the art in the community of Iqaluit and it was fun to see, feel and work with this medium.  Students are excited to give their finished creations to their Dads on Father's Day.  A special THANK YOU to Ms. Faraschuk, Ms. Casteel & Ms. Jayanadhanpadmini who came and helped with our project today.

We combined Science and Math today and completed a survey of our classmates' favourite insects.  The butterfly was a clear winner.

Reminder: Tomorrow is the Bike Rodeo!  Click HERE for more info.  If you have not done so already, please log into Powerschool and sign your child's permission form.
