October 1, 2018

Today RBES staff and students participated in Orange Shirt Day.  We discussed residential schools and watched a short video in which Phyllis Webstad presents her memories of Residential schools and the meaning of Orange Shirt Day.

In Grade 2, we alternate between social and science on a monthly basis.  This allows a greater focus on the concepts being covered.  Today we transitioned to science and students are over the moon at the prospect of doing experiments for the next few weeks!  Our topic is Exploring Liquids.  Today we discussed the differences between solids, liquids and gasses at a molecular level.  Then identified if various objects were solids or liquids.  Students completed their first experiment, exploring water, where they used their 5 senses to explore this common liquid.

Weekly Reminders:
- Field trip permission is online and must be completed prior to Wednesday.
- Wednesday is early dismissal (2:21).
- Thursday is our Field Trip to the Telus World of Science
