February 7, 2018

Today was the perfect day to talk about what to pack in our suitcases for Iqualuit.  Their temperature was -39C today and we decided that it would be best to pack everything that came to school for our winter walk - snow pants, jackets, mittens, toques, scarves, boots, warm socks, long johns. The puppets that the students made were dressed for the cold temperatures of the Far North!

It was a little chilli for Winter Walk Day, but we walked quickly and kept as warm as possible.  Thank you to the town of Devon for the delicious hot chocolate that we enjoyed after our walk.

Reminder that there is no school for the reminder of the week, as all teachers from North Central Alberta are off to Edmonton for Teacher's Convention.  I am excited to spend two days immersing myself in professional development, I have opted for sessions focused on mental health and student wellness.  I look forward to sharing my learning with you all on the blog next week.  Have a wonderful extra long weekend with your little ones!
