Bike Safety Week has arrived!  Today we kicked it off with a wonderful safety opportunity; four members of the Devon Bike club came into the school to check the helmets of every student.  Wow, the knowledge that I gained today was tremendous and I hope that by reviewing the blue checklist that came home, you will also learn more about properly fitting helmets.

After a brief discussion about bike size and how to get going, students had a great time riding safely around the schoolyard.

Spiders have been our focus over the past week.  It was neat to learn that only 3 friends in our class are afraid of spiders.  Today we learned the body parts of a spider: cephalothorax, abdomen, 8 legs, 8 eyes, 2 pedipalps, 2 fangs & a spinerette.
