CHEESE!  Today was class picture day.

Mrs. Letcher was in our classroom this morning and student had an amazing time participating in  MORNING MEASUREMENT MADNESS!  This was the launch to our measurement unit, which students will be working on over the next two weeks.  Today, students learned the difference between standard and non-standard measurement.  They used non-standard units to measure various objects around our classroom.  Ask your child to measure your kitchen table this evening using the non-standard unit, forks.

In the afternoon, track students worked with Mrs. Kloschinsky, practicing for the big track meet next week.  Non-track students had their physical education class with Mrs. Mullen, Mrs. Suter, Mrs. Coleman and myself.  It was a beautiful day to be outside!

Thank you to the families who have donated boat building materials to our Boat Day.  We look forward to receiving more materials tomorrow.

Today the health nurses were at the school giving a presentation on Bike and Brain Safety.  They discussed the importance of helmets and taught us the 2, V, 1 rule.  Ask your child to show you what this means.

In Math, we launched our next Math Unit - Double Digit Subtraction to 100 (without regrouping).  Students used manuipulaives to solve equations that did not require regrouping.  +/- to 100 will be our focus over the next two months of school.

Reminders:
- Tomorrow is class photo day.
- Please send in materials for Boat Day.
- Library will be on Wednesday this week.
- Bring bike helmets for the fitting session on Friday.
- Please complete the Bike Safety and Swimming permission forms in Powerschool.

Today was HATS ON FOR MENTAL HEALTH!!

In the afternoon, students participated in the RBES Wellness Afternoon, where they rotated through three activities in various locations throughout the school.  I had a great time talking about the 4 food groups and helping students to create digital lunch boxes containing healthy lunch options.

During our social studies class today, we flew to Saskatoon.  After visiting Meteghan and Iqualuit earlier in the year,  this is our final stop in our Canadian adventures.

Thank you to our Grade 4 buddies, who joined us in an afternoon of reading.  It was great to spend time with them and also to hear them read their favourite stories to us.
